Privacy policy

Connecdle is designed to work without an account. This policy explains what stays on your device, what is sent when you submit a guess, and which service providers help operate the game.

Information stored on your device

Connecdle uses browser storage or the equivalent app storage to remember your theme preference and daily game progress. Daily progress can include your guesses, their feedback, completion status, score, displayed answer, and completion time. This information is not used to identify you and can be removed by clearing the site or app storage.

Information submitted to Connecdle

When you submit a guess, the public API processes and stores data needed to score and improve the game. The guess record can include:
Your written guess and a normalized copy.
The puzzle identifier, revision, and attempt number.
The model result, confidence values, game feedback, score, and scoring version.
A random guess identifier, cache status, and submission time.
Connecdle does not require a name, email address, account, or user profile to play, and it does not intentionally attach an IP address to the stored guess record. Avoid entering personal information in the answer box. Network providers may still process IP addresses and technical request data as part of delivering and protecting the service.

Why guesses are retained

Submitted guesses are used to return a score, detect abuse, measure scoring quality, review uncertain decisions, and improve future versions of the language model. Guess records are currently retained until they are no longer needed for those purposes or are manually deleted. Reviewed data may be retained in normalized or de-identified form for model evaluation and training.

Service providers

Cloudflare hosts the website and API, stores puzzle and guess data in D1/KV, and provides Turnstile abuse protection.
Modal runs the scoring model. A submitted guess and the puzzle scoring context are sent to that model endpoint for inference.
Google AdSense may provide advertising and related privacy controls on eligible pages.

Where required, a consent message provides choices before personalized advertising is used. Browser privacy settings and content blockers may also restrict third-party storage or requests.

Security and choices

Connecdle uses transport encryption, restricted service credentials, request limits, and access controls intended to protect the service. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information. A public contact channel will be listed on the site once configured.

Children’s privacy and changes

Connecdle is a general-audience word game and is not directed to children under 13. If this policy changes materially, its effective date will be updated here.
